Rick Fahey
Rick plays acoustic and electric guitar, is one of the vocalists and is the composer of most of the group’s original music. Rick has played in rock groups, an acoustic folk rock duo, and a dixieland band. He has also been a member of several choirs. He uses his varied musical background to bring a similar variety to the Peter’s Voice sound.
Richard (Dick) Van Gelder
Dick’s musical experiences stem from Catholic folk masses of the 60's where he sang and played guitar, and from concert and marching bands where he played trombone. Dick and Rick have played together since the early 80's and that collaboration eventually formed into what is now Peter’s Voice. Dick plays 6 and 12 string acoustic guitar and is one of the male vocalist. With his trombone, Dick is also in the Peter’s Voice horn section. In addition to his musical duties, Dick is the spokesperson, MC and Marketing Manager for Peter’s Voice.
Art Johnstone
Art is the “real singer” among the male Peter’s Voice vocalists. He studied Voice at Muskingum College and at the University of Maryland and was a member of the Chamber Chorus of College Park. He has sung the male lead in the Sound of Music and performed in “South Pacific”, “Oklahoma”, and many Community Players Productions in Ohio, New York, and Maryland. While finishing his bachelor’s degree in Maryland, he became a director of the Cambridge Combined Choirs and Christ Episcopal Choir in Cambridge, Maryland, a position he had for 17 years before moving to Salisbury, Maryland. In addition to Peter’s Voice, he currently sings with the St. Peter’s Episcopal Church Choir and with the Concert Choir in the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
Shannon Donoway
Shannon rounds out the Peter’s Voice vocal sound with her sometimes sultry, sometimes hard edge, and sometimes country sound. She is formally trained in music, voice, and piano and sang with a variety of choirs before joining Peter’s Voice in 1995.
Sean Fahey
Sean is the only lifelong member of Peter’s Voice. Sean began his musical career playing the jingle bells at Peter’s Voice Nursing Home engagements at the tender age of 4. After a several year hiatus, he formally joined the group as it’s first bass player and recorded all the bass tracks on the “Pelican Moment” CD. At The College of William and Mary, he helped form a group that led the contemporary services at Bruton Parish. In his senior year and after college, he and Grace Camblos formed “Piedmont Bay”, a folk/bluegrass duo. He now is “go to” guy for Peter’s Voice playing at various times, mandolin, dobro, guitar, keyboard, harmonica, and penny whistle. Sean is also the voice behind the hidden tracks on Peter’s Voice CD’s.
Steve Rumney
Steve is the mysterious one in the group, keeping to the background but adding the bottom as the bass player for Peter’s Voice. In contrast with Dick's musical background, Steve played with heavy metal and punk bands in the 70's and then broke from his music to join the real world. He was asked to play one performance with Peter’s Voice when Sean left for college in 1999 and has been a cornerstone of the group since.
Chuck DeMartin
Chuck is an accomplished percussionist who appeared on the “Bricks Upon the Sand” CD and plays with Peter’s Voice in larger venues. Chuck also plays with a wide variety of other groups including Christian praise groups, folk rock duos, rock bands, and in a marching pipe and drum group complete with kilts.
Brittany Spicer
Brittany is an honor student at Parkside High School and a student in the Wicomico County's Visual and Performing Arts
program for voice. She is a member of the Parkside High School Concert Choir, the All Shore Chorus and is a member of,
and soloist for, the Children's Theater of Delmarva. She has performed in Salisbury University's musical, "Sweeny Todd",
has sung with UMES concert choir and St. Peter's Church Senior Choir, and is a member of the St. Peter's Church handbell choir.
She has studied at Shenandoah Music Conservatory's summer program and also plays piano.
Josh Calo
Josh, now a high school student, began his violin training at the Peabody Preparatory in Baltimore when he was six. In addition
to 10 years of classical violin training, he also studied piano and sang in the Peabody Children's Choir. While living in North
Carolina, he played in the Winston-Salem Youth Symphony, and currently is a first violinist in the Salisbury Youth Symphony and the
Salisbury Symphony Orchestra. In Peter's Voice he enjoys playing a variety of musical styles on the violin and keyboard and performing
for a wide range of audiences.
